PareSense

Sound-based Control of Building Services, Security Technology, and Multimedia Devices for People in Care Environments

In hospitals, nursing facilities, and assisted living settings, patients with serious functional impairments, e. g., after a stroke, require extremely personnel-intensive care. The aim of the “PareSense“ project is to develop a voice control system with which even severely speech-impaired patients can independently operate communication and entertainment electronics or security and building management systems.

In the framework of the project, investigations into the user acceptance and reliability of the technology are carried out jointly with affected persons. The system under development is intended to be offered as an additional component for existing building installations in care facilities, and as an emergency call system in the home environment.
